End of May beginning of June this wonderful time of the year and it is starting to be more and more emotional and real that we soon will be packing up and leaving. After this very cold spring it is nice to finally warm up and that the pool season has started. Here in Wittlaer Düsseldorf we have a local pool in Kaiserwerth Freibad Flossenweg where we go to swim. On a normal school day in the afternoon it is not too bad with people but on a hot hot weekend it is very crowded. It is kind of funny living in a place where you meet parents from school and neighbors first fully dressed and then undressed in the pool.  One amazing experience was seeing Düsseldorf Tonhalle from inside where Mila and her school together with four other schools in Düsseldorf had a Sing Pause concert. It was magical to hear them all sing in this old planetarium which has been changed into a concert hall.  My Creative work has been focusing on personalizing Art journals.   I have been creating some new hair-bands from different fabrics and patterns. It is so much fun to make different style hair-bands and they are such useful accessory. Mila helped me to modell them for me under our beautiful maple tree. I am already getting sorted for the open-air Winter market which is coming up here in Düsseldorf end of November and first of Advent.  Which pattern is your favourite? 

I am very excited! I have got the opportunity to illustrate an article in a magazine. It will be so much fun to see my illustrations in print living its on life in a magazine in the hands of other people. Very exciting!! The article is about mindfulness and is using cakes and its different layers as a metaphor. Something like "life is like a cake" I would say it is the 2.1 version of Forest Gumps philosophy "life is like a box of chocolate". Anyhow here is my selection of cakes and a couple of them will be used. Did I say that I am excited?!      

During our stay in Stockholm at Mr Books plaza. I found some of my old canvases ready to be continued or repainted. This is a portrait of family Book/Folkesson/Nikolovski. Me, Mila, Sofie, Levis and Stefan (and some of the 10 litres of strawberries my dad bought in a good deal.)
