Weekly update 10/52 Overwhelmed

The war in Ukraine started Friday 24/2 and all war are horrible, unnecessary and causes so much pain. I was thinking and hoping that the conflict would not reach this level and it was a bit of a shock to wake up to the news of that an invasion started. I am also disappointed because I was hoping Russia would manage to hold back against provocations from west and that this could be solved in a diplomatic way. I am strongly against war and against Russia invading Ukraine. But also upset that media is not showing both sides of the conflict or at least a nuance. Propaganda is heavy from both sides in this conflict but we are blindly seeing what they want us to see just like with covid. Some pictures which has gone viral should have been source checked better, unfair to publish pictures from documentaries and from other conflicts. Or maybe even more so I have issues with the moral dilemma of that countries and politics are pointing fingers how bad this is when their is so much shit going on around the world with conflicts, war, corruptions where West is getting involved only where they have benefit. I am still strongly against the war and horrified with all the suffering.
I am worried about the development in all this but also getting overwhelmed with all the reports about what is going on. We have been home with a cold last week so I have had more time to check newspapers sites and I am feeling it is getting too much for me.

So on the more positive side
Düsseldorf has been sunny for days !! Cold but sunny and the sun gives energy! Although getting a cold was a bit unnecessary but ok we havn't been ill for two years so I guess it was our time.
My knitting has continue - and I have made headbands for me and Mila and bought pins to make them a bit more fun. M for Mila or maybe M for mamma now

Mila is continue to make her own hobby horses and she is doing such great job. I have helped with buying some new fabrics and sticks but a part from that she making them all by herself. Here are Pele, Luna and Angel.

And the horse she is riding in real life is called Lily and are a really chestnut mare with a cool prankster temperament.

And pre-planted chili, tomatoes and peppers have been done this week

Next week I need to get ready for the next market an Easter open-air market

Weekly update 42/52 New fleece hats ready for the cooler weather

Weekly update 41/52 Time for warmer hats, nice books and last garden projects

October and week 41 and I have been making lots of new jersey hats with fleece lining. The weather is getting colder and colder and yes hat season is here. I will during the week add new fun warm hats in my web-shop. The hats will also be sold at Christmas markets here in Örebro.  New this year for me is that I am making baby hats since I got a lot of requests. I find it hard to make baby hats because they look so small, it is hard to remember how small babies are.  Also this week big happiness over at new book release from my favorite children book illustrator Sven Nordqvist. "Vägen Hem" a wonderful book with amazing illustrations.   I have also bought and planted some new plants inspired from some nice park arrangements here in Örebro. Now lets hope that all the deer in the forrest will not eat all of these, as I forgot to check wether or not these are tasty to them. In our country-house in the forrest they tend to come and eat everything they like and they ...

Weekly update 40/52 Autumn colors and cinnamon buns

Welcome October the most colorful month of the year. Yes we are going full steam towards the darker and colder part of the year, but I have to admit it is cosy and pretty with all the colorful leaves.  I don't know if it is a new thing to have theme days where a dish or something is being celebrated. I am guessing it is a capitalistic marketing great idea so companies can make more money like Valentine day. One of those days in Sweden is 4 of October when our national bakery Cinnamon bun is being honored. I got inspired! Some time ago I bought nice linnen tea-towels which I was planning to make some print/design on and when I got inspired by cinnamon bun I knew exactly what to make. I started scribbling and drawing buns on a big sheet. When I had one or two which I thought looked ok I transfered my bun drawing to my Cricut and had it cut out on iron-on vinyl. My mum is a master in baking buns and so I made a tea-towel/baking-towel in honor of not only cinnamon buns but of my mother...
