18-19/52 Weekly update Düsseldorf Summer weather in May

Düsseldorf has had summer weather with nice warm temperatures
When the weather is better I do have less time to write my weekly blog updates and also less time to work on my creative projects. More time to enjoy outside and our days are getting longer and longer and kids has been staying up way too late the past two weeks. Picknicks with friends outside in a park, going to the stable late and afternoon at the swimming pool in Kaiserswerth tend to always be a longer event then I plan. But hey soon summer-break right so better to get use to staying up late.

One weekend we went to Eindhoven for the day. We like to go to the Netherlands - people are friendly and even if it is only an hour away you can feel it is a different country with an other spirit. A spirit which is more open and more friendly. It is also good to go on a Sunday when most things are closed here in Germany. Here is a few pictures of a graffiti wall right next to PSV Eindhoven football arena. On the other side of the wall is Philipsdorf park a fun park for kids to play in and kept nice and clean by local pensioners. We thought kids would be happy to go and play a bit but both of them just sat in the shade and looked grumpy - and we realized that they are faster then you think reaching an age when playgrounds are not really that much fun anymore. So we headed into the city and enjoyed dinner in a cool food-court with tastes from all over the world. Down Town Gourment Market, Smalle Haven, Eindhoven.
For me it is so amazing to take my family to Eindhoven and Valkenswaard in Holland where I used to live when I was young straight after high school - I never thought I would ever visit this part of Europe again and now since four years I live only 1 hour and 20 minutes away. Life is an adventure and randomly takes you places.

Weekly update 42/52 New fleece hats ready for the cooler weather

Weekly update 41/52 Time for warmer hats, nice books and last garden projects

October and week 41 and I have been making lots of new jersey hats with fleece lining. The weather is getting colder and colder and yes hat season is here. I will during the week add new fun warm hats in my web-shop. The hats will also be sold at Christmas markets here in Örebro.  New this year for me is that I am making baby hats since I got a lot of requests. I find it hard to make baby hats because they look so small, it is hard to remember how small babies are.  Also this week big happiness over at new book release from my favorite children book illustrator Sven Nordqvist. "Vägen Hem" a wonderful book with amazing illustrations.   I have also bought and planted some new plants inspired from some nice park arrangements here in Örebro. Now lets hope that all the deer in the forrest will not eat all of these, as I forgot to check wether or not these are tasty to them. In our country-house in the forrest they tend to come and eat everything they like and they ...

Weekly update 40/52 Autumn colors and cinnamon buns

Welcome October the most colorful month of the year. Yes we are going full steam towards the darker and colder part of the year, but I have to admit it is cosy and pretty with all the colorful leaves.  I don't know if it is a new thing to have theme days where a dish or something is being celebrated. I am guessing it is a capitalistic marketing great idea so companies can make more money like Valentine day. One of those days in Sweden is 4 of October when our national bakery Cinnamon bun is being honored. I got inspired! Some time ago I bought nice linnen tea-towels which I was planning to make some print/design on and when I got inspired by cinnamon bun I knew exactly what to make. I started scribbling and drawing buns on a big sheet. When I had one or two which I thought looked ok I transfered my bun drawing to my Cricut and had it cut out on iron-on vinyl. My mum is a master in baking buns and so I made a tea-towel/baking-towel in honor of not only cinnamon buns but of my mother...
