Sewing creations

I love my new babylock sewing machine and I am producing hats and bibs like never before. It is a totally revolutionary feeling working with this machine. As soon as I have some time over in the evenings I am creating some new creations for smaller babies inspired by Filip and for older kids inspired by Mila. I have bought some new fabrics but I am also using fabrics from clothing that I no longer can wear or are worn-out at places. It feels great to recycle fabric when I can at the moment I mainly use it as back part of bibs to make the soft for drooling babies. Here is some of my latest creations. I will get around to take pictures of what I have for sale if anyone would be interested.

Recycling cats

As you might know I love to reuse materials and products. It is a great feeling to make something old into something new and fun. We live in such consumer society were everything should be cheap instead of long lasting quality made by people who got fair payment in good work conditions. Hallelujah! No I am not a saint just as bad as everybody else consuming too much. But trying to at least pretend that I am trying to make semi good choices and also reusing materials for my projects.. I think I have shown my husbands well worn t-shirts in new format before.. I use textile paint which can be washed in washing machine to create my figures ( recently mainly cats) the paint is not that easy to paint details with so sometimes I also use textile pens. I use these small pattern patches to stich on as decoration on clothing or in this case small handbag for cat crazy 2 year old.

Recycling thoughts

We don't have any recycling options here in Moscow. It hurts me. It feels so wrong to just trow everything in one big garbage bag. Especially plastic and all these glass bottles and jars. When we first moved I saved bottles and jars in the kitchen hoping they would start recycle but pretty fast it ended up looking like a recycling station in my kitchen. So instead I have been thinking what I can remake in my creative corner not to let everything go waste.  Here is one of my first experiments with glass milk bottles. Painted and decorated with washi tejp in different colors. Simple but pretty cute result.  And serves pretty well as a vase  Here is also some of my other ongoing recycling projects. Loren's well-used T-shirts transformed into new creations with fabric paint and will be decorating different sewing projects.

Recycling project

Finally Mr Nikolovski decided to through out a whole bunch of his old t-shirts. Wash out & well worn t-shirts with yellow mining machines a cross the chest. They were more then ready to be binned after heavy usage. I should be happy, but instead this weird thing happens like every time when I am sorting out old cloths. I ask myself the question "are they really ready to be gone forever?" and I take the pile of old t-shirts and look through them thoroughly.  This time I decided to utilize them for one of my many sewing projects. These old t-shirts got turned in to little sweatshirts for Mila. Recycling is good and I am following the slogan "Please reuse waste reduce" Even Mila seems pretty happy with her new garments
