Moscow farmers market - Danislovsky market

Loren who loves nice, fresh and natural groceries has done some great research about Moscow's supermarkets and farmers markets since we moved here.  Danislovsky market is one of Moscow's oldest and biggest indoor markets and the best thing is that we only live 15 minutes away. Located on Mytnaya ul 74 with nearest metro station Tulskaya. Last Sunday Team Nikolovski did our premier exploration to this fresh products paradise. An explosion of colors from all the fruits and vegetables met us and the atmosphere was great. For me coming from Sweden this is very exotic as we don't have this kind of markets but also for Loren who has been living away from Macedonia for a long time. You can find more or less everything here not only fruit and veggies but also eggs, meat, fresh cheese and bread. Also babushkas selling homemade marmalade, jam, pickled vegetables and many other for me unknown products. An Colombian restaurant and a couple of interesting café´s with fresh products an...

Girls-night-out

It was a couple of months ago we started to dream about a girls-night-out. A few hours without the babies.  A night were we can wear a dress or any other clothing were the food supply is well hidden and no easy access (I am even considering a turtleneck even though it is boiling outside ). A night when we will zip on a cocktail ( not a huge cocktail fan but simply made a better dream picture than a beer..) Time is flying and tonight is the night when we are doing all the above. I am now heading to meet up with Carly, Miki & Monica to have a great night without babies but for sure a lot of discussions about them.

Thursday treat

Thursday evening after a long day in the office ( not quite true for part of Team Nikolovski, but sounds more exhausting then spending the day drinking coffee in comfy chairs at Starbucks..) Our good friend Mr Adad turned up with nice fresh organic ingredient ready to cook for us (that's whats friends are for, right!?) There was seafood, peppers and a whole pile of onions. Mr Adad turned all the good products into a magically tasty seafood paella. Team Nikolovski was eating away and enjoyed it ALOT Thank you very much and come soon back!

Semlor

Semla = Swedish bun filled with marzipan and whipped cream  These buns makes the Swedish cold and dark winter a little brighter They are available mainly during January and Feburary Special dedicated day for semlan is on the second Tuesday in February ( alot of history behind) I prefer them homemade and many small rather then one big My mamma Mi was here last week and baked the most amazing buns. There is still some left in the freezer and as it is a grey Tuesday today is the day we need a sweet juicy semla...
