31/52 Happy Halloween

Kids with friends have watched Ghostbusters and yes decided to all get dressed up as Ghostbusters this year. Our friend Ange is a master in creating costumes and made great Slimer costume for herself and made ghostes for me and Loren. The Halloween celebration in our area here in Düusseldorf is well attended and organized since it lives a lot of expats in our neighborhood.

30/52 New hairbands

I have been creating some new hair-bands from different fabrics and patterns. It is so much fun to make different style hair-bands and they are such useful accessory. Mila helped me to modell them for me under our beautiful maple tree. I am already getting sorted for the open-air Winter market which is coming up here in Düsseldorf end of November and first of Advent.  Which pattern is your favourite?

Weekly update 29/52 Autumn- break memories

Talking about Autum-break here comes a few pictures from our break. We had a great combination of calm country-life at Lundsätter our country-house and Stockholm with my sister Sofie and my mother.  Seeing friends and family, enjoying the forrest and the beautiful October weather with clear sky and bright sunshine charged our batteries. We are so lucky that the kids have good friends to play with while we are home and extra extra bonus is that we have stable and pony to go to.  In Stockholm we did a couple of cool museums which we can very much recommend - Paradox Museum   -Museum of Natural history

28/52 My Autumn world

I love autumn and this autumn as been so nice and sunny. German autumn-break was beginning of October and we had a great break home in Sweden. This illustration is very much inspired by autumn and all the beautiful strong colors this season offers. Illustration on A4 akvarell paper and watercolor
Thank you September you were good and welcome October! October I think you are my favorite month of the year apart from December, April, June, August and September.. Here in Düsseldorf the schools has two weeks off for Autumn break so we have that to look forward to and also I am going a weekend to Stockholm to see my family and see a musical. And the changes in the nature is just so pretty - transforming from green to yellow and orange.   I was doing some paperwork this morning but also had time to start a Happy Halloween illustration which I am thinking to turn in to a card somehow. I don't know how I picked this format - hard even to take a photo of it... I will find a way to show a better picture of it!! Also looking in my memory box and found some other October drawings

Ready for civilization..

We came to Lundsätter in March. It was cold and dark. Very dark out here in the forest. Quiet and fresh and I feel safe but sometimes little scared of the dark and the quietness. It got brighter and brighter by each week. By Midsummer it was more or less daylight around the clock. During the summer it feels right to be here in the nature even though of course hard not having Loren around all the time. Now it is darker and dark again. I can feel the autumn freshness in the air. And I feel it is time to move back to civilization. Tonight it hit me hard that I want to live with street lights and people around now when the summer has been and gone. Also missing being all together a lot making and enjoying dinners together, discuss the day, watch series or simply just share a boring Thursday together.

Prague Zoo crossed of the to-do-list

Not far before Team Nikolovski is moving from Prague. Me and Mila is squeezing the last out of these days with great friends. On our to do list before leaving Prague was of course to visit the zoo. Together with Miki and Lisa we had a great visit this morning. Autumn grey but not so cold day. We managed to time lunch during a shower of rain.  Mila was mostly impressed by a muddy water puddle she found next to the elephants but gorillas was pretty fun also. I was super impressed by pappa gorilla, such a big animal. Also I liked the polar bear who was having a great swimming show for us. Prague zoo is cute, tidy and well organized. I can highly recommend a visit here.

Beautiful season

Autumn is a beautiful season no doubt. We all seems to be amazed and impressed by all the beautiful colors of the autumn leaves that are transforming our landscape and slowly preparing us for cold and dark season. Just go on Instagram and it is currently full of leaves from different countries and perspective. It is touching how we worship the yellow, red and orange leaves, nearly as mush as when they first come in the early spring. I also love this season. Fresh, bright air on a sunny autumn day. All the vibrant colors all around us, so strong, beautiful and powerful.   Time to buy cute and warm scarfs woolen hats, socks and gloves. Light some candles, make hot chocolate and scones and enjoy it in front of a good movie.   All good, but new for this year is the panic over what and how to dress the smallest member of Team Nikolovski. Is she warm enough ? Can she move in all the clothes?  Is she too warm? Do we need overall, jacket, rain-gear and ...

Autumn colors

There is this hill that I face driving down to Andel where I park the car when me and Mila is going down-town. This hill is amazing, so many colors and powerful shades. Each season is so magical. At the moment the hill is changing costume to warm autumn colors. For everyday more orange and yellow is coming through. I love it. So beautiful and magical.
