Sketchbook journal: Halloween

I am truly crap in writing lately. Not that I am not creating things or pre-thinking what I am planning to write or lacking funny stories to write.. But I just simply doesn't manage to put pen on paper. I know not end of the day but kind of feel bad if I let go of my blog it is my way of getting me writing and being creative in words together with my illustrations. Ok enough about that... Here is not a vey new post but I never got a round to post it so here it goes..
This is a memory from 2016 Halloween. Last year we were in Ivakino Moscow and the kids were ringing on our door bell every two minutes asking trick or treat. AND I had forgotten to by sweets. It was going on for hours and at first I found sweets that we had got from the company for Christmas the year before but after given away last bits of chocolate, nuts and fruit it felt like a never ending nightmare.
This year back in Sweden no trick or treat as we live million miles out in the forrest and no kids can get here. But we organized a great halloween day in the stables with gymkhana competition for the kids and a ghoost treasure hunt. Great fun and kids also had fun.

Weekly update 40/52 Autumn colors and cinnamon buns

Welcome October the most colorful month of the year. Yes we are going full steam towards the darker and colder part of the year, but I have to admit it is cosy and pretty with all the colorful leaves.  I don't know if it is a new thing to have theme days where a dish or something is being celebrated. I am guessing it is a capitalistic marketing great idea so companies can make more money like Valentine day. One of those days in Sweden is 4 of October when our national bakery Cinnamon bun is being honored. I got inspired! Some time ago I bought nice linnen tea-towels which I was planning to make some print/design on and when I got inspired by cinnamon bun I knew exactly what to make. I started scribbling and drawing buns on a big sheet. When I had one or two which I thought looked ok I transfered my bun drawing to my Cricut and had it cut out on iron-on vinyl. My mum is a master in baking buns and so I made a tea-towel/baking-towel in honor of not only cinnamon buns but of my mother...

Weekly update 38/52 Örebro Autumn market in summer sun

It was exciting to participate at my first market being back in Örebro, Sweden. It was an Autumn market in the beautiful setting of Karlslund Estate in Örebro. Most exhibitor were selling locally grown fruit, veggies and flowers. Also jams, marmelades, bakeries and cheeses. It was a sunny beautiful day and it attracted a lot of people. It was fun to finally again set up my display and show my products. The market stand/table I rented from the organizer and it was perfect size and cute. My best-sellers were my hats in smaller sizes. Amd to next market I need to make more fleece-lined hats since it gets cooler here in Swedem during the winter.
