Xmas, recession and unemployment

Recessions also affects the Christmas spirit in many ways.

This year one group is especially affected, the Christmas Angels

A series of layoffs and an increase level of unemployment has hit these Xmas figures.

The Angels traditional tasks around Christmas is to spin round and round the angels chimes and to decorate the Christmas tree, but this year those jobs has gone to Santas and ginger cookie men.

It is facts that the Christmas decoration are increasingly dominated by men. Christmas feminists rage against this development and is currently having crisis talks to come up with a plan to break this trend.

Jul, lågkonjunktur och arbetslöshet

Lågkonjunkturer drabbar även julen på många sätt.

Just i år är det en grupp som är extra drabbade, Julens änglar.

En rad varsel och en allt högre grad av arbetslöshet har drabbat dessa glädjespridare.

Änglarnas traditionella arbetsuppgifter såsom dansa runt runt i änglaspelen och att dekorera julgranarna har i år gått till tomtarna och pepparkaksgubbarna. Att juldekorationerna har blivit alltmer mansdominerade är ett faktum med kulörta kulor, bockar och gubbar hit och dit. Julfeministerna rasar mot denna utveckling och sitter just nu i krissamtal för att komma upp med en plan för att bryta denna trend.

Weekly update 42/52 New fleece hats ready for the cooler weather

Weekly update 38/52 Örebro Autumn market in summer sun

It was exciting to participate at my first market being back in Örebro, Sweden. It was an Autumn market in the beautiful setting of Karlslund Estate in Örebro. Most exhibitor were selling locally grown fruit, veggies and flowers. Also jams, marmelades, bakeries and cheeses. It was a sunny beautiful day and it attracted a lot of people. It was fun to finally again set up my display and show my products. The market stand/table I rented from the organizer and it was perfect size and cute. My best-sellers were my hats in smaller sizes. Amd to next market I need to make more fleece-lined hats since it gets cooler here in Swedem during the winter.

Weekly update 41/52 Time for warmer hats, nice books and last garden projects

October and week 41 and I have been making lots of new jersey hats with fleece lining. The weather is getting colder and colder and yes hat season is here. I will during the week add new fun warm hats in my web-shop. The hats will also be sold at Christmas markets here in Örebro. New this year for me is that I am making baby hats since I got a lot of requests. I find it hard to make baby hats because they look so small, it is hard to remember how small babies are. Also this week big happiness over at new book release from my favorite children book illustrator Sven Nordqvist. "Vägen Hem" a wonderful book with amazing illustrations. I have also bought and planted some new plants inspired from some nice park arrangements here in Örebro. Now lets hope that all the deer in the forrest will not eat all of these, as I forgot to check wether or not these are tasty to them.
