Weekly update 6/52 Some week day routines and illustration process without a plan

Another January week has passed. Here in Düsseldorf the weather has been pretty mild and frost free most nights. We have got into everyday routines again after the break. Mila and I bike to school everyday. It is still pretty dark when we leave at 07.45 but on my way back it is already getting light, if it is not grey and cloudy which it is most days in all honesty. When I get back from biking with Mila I either wake Filip up or he is already up watching TV. I drink my coffee and serve him his breakfast and get him dressed. We get in the boxbike for Kita at 8.53 and it is just across the park so we make it on time for morning circle at 9.00. I exercise at boot-camp two times per week in the morning directly after dropping Filip off. It is outside training and we have a great trainer with so many good exercises and it is a nice group of international ladies. I pick up early and drive Filip to his speech therapy centrum 3 times per week. The centrum is located closer to city so while Filip has his lessons I walk in a park close by, do some shopping or sit in a café drinking coffee and drawing. I have from last week added German lessons on Tuesday morning for me.

Last week I finished an illustration I started some time ago. Like many of my illustrations I start without a plan. I tejp the akvarell paper with masking tejp on a food mat. After wiping the paper with a wet sponge I added drawing gum on places I am planning to keep white. In this illustration I made all the snowflakes with the masking gum and also circles in the middle which ended up being heads. While I am painting the backgrounds in many different layers I am slowly thinking of what to make out of it although most of the time it just becomes something without me thinking anything. Like this illustration - the ladies who are they and what are they doing ? Singing, thinking, enjoying

Also last week me and Mila went to the creative shop Idee to look for some material for Mila hobby horse project she is working on with some classmates. Idee is a nice shop which has everything you need for any type of creative ideas or projects. I found cute coated fabric that I bought and have made pen case out of using velcro as close and opening. Fun and they ended up pretty cute.

Weekly update 42/52 New fleece hats ready for the cooler weather

Weekly update 41/52 Time for warmer hats, nice books and last garden projects

October and week 41 and I have been making lots of new jersey hats with fleece lining. The weather is getting colder and colder and yes hat season is here. I will during the week add new fun warm hats in my web-shop. The hats will also be sold at Christmas markets here in Örebro.  New this year for me is that I am making baby hats since I got a lot of requests. I find it hard to make baby hats because they look so small, it is hard to remember how small babies are.  Also this week big happiness over at new book release from my favorite children book illustrator Sven Nordqvist. "Vägen Hem" a wonderful book with amazing illustrations.   I have also bought and planted some new plants inspired from some nice park arrangements here in Örebro. Now lets hope that all the deer in the forrest will not eat all of these, as I forgot to check wether or not these are tasty to them. In our country-house in the forrest they tend to come and eat everything they like and they ...

Weekly update 40/52 Autumn colors and cinnamon buns

Welcome October the most colorful month of the year. Yes we are going full steam towards the darker and colder part of the year, but I have to admit it is cosy and pretty with all the colorful leaves.  I don't know if it is a new thing to have theme days where a dish or something is being celebrated. I am guessing it is a capitalistic marketing great idea so companies can make more money like Valentine day. One of those days in Sweden is 4 of October when our national bakery Cinnamon bun is being honored. I got inspired! Some time ago I bought nice linnen tea-towels which I was planning to make some print/design on and when I got inspired by cinnamon bun I knew exactly what to make. I started scribbling and drawing buns on a big sheet. When I had one or two which I thought looked ok I transfered my bun drawing to my Cricut and had it cut out on iron-on vinyl. My mum is a master in baking buns and so I made a tea-towel/baking-towel in honor of not only cinnamon buns but of my mother...
