Weekly update 4/52 Gift bags news

This week I have been making some new gift bags. A friend from Sweden came to visit on Sunday and she had ordered bags and hairbands, with instruction that she likes stripes, polka dots and turquoise. That gave me an excuse to go to this nice fabric shop Dori & Ellen in Lindtorf, Ratingen to pick up some new spring color fabrics for bags and hairbands. I made some bags and hairbands in different colors to send with her but also continued to make some more for the webshop. Check it out I managed to upload a few bags in the size of a hard cover book, just in time for the Swedish book sale coming up in Feburary.

I am constantly looking for new ideas and things to make and explore, thats what drives me. A friend of mine got a Cricut cutter for Christmas and she has showed me how it works and what you can do. That gave me inspiration that I can iron-on printed pictures to my bags. So I ordered transfer papers for laser printer and started testing. I am using my Düsseldorf and summer illustrations and yes yes it works and it looks cool. This I will continue with to develop more ideas and also moving forward both print and paint.

Happy Friday !

Weekly update 40/52 Autumn colors and cinnamon buns

Welcome October the most colorful month of the year. Yes we are going full steam towards the darker and colder part of the year, but I have to admit it is cosy and pretty with all the colorful leaves.  I don't know if it is a new thing to have theme days where a dish or something is being celebrated. I am guessing it is a capitalistic marketing great idea so companies can make more money like Valentine day. One of those days in Sweden is 4 of October when our national bakery Cinnamon bun is being honored. I got inspired! Some time ago I bought nice linnen tea-towels which I was planning to make some print/design on and when I got inspired by cinnamon bun I knew exactly what to make. I started scribbling and drawing buns on a big sheet. When I had one or two which I thought looked ok I transfered my bun drawing to my Cricut and had it cut out on iron-on vinyl. My mum is a master in baking buns and so I made a tea-towel/baking-towel in honor of not only cinnamon buns but of my mother...

Weekly update 38/52 Örebro Autumn market in summer sun

It was exciting to participate at my first market being back in Örebro, Sweden. It was an Autumn market in the beautiful setting of Karlslund Estate in Örebro. Most exhibitor were selling locally grown fruit, veggies and flowers. Also jams, marmelades, bakeries and cheeses. It was a sunny beautiful day and it attracted a lot of people. It was fun to finally again set up my display and show my products. The market stand/table I rented from the organizer and it was perfect size and cute. My best-sellers were my hats in smaller sizes. Amd to next market I need to make more fleece-lined hats since it gets cooler here in Swedem during the winter.
