Weekly update: 3/52 December craft

Christmas was very nice and relaxed for us. We decided already in October that we will stay in Düsseldorf over Christmas. Mila had school all the way until 23/12 so it felt too stressed to fly on Christmas Eve and also to avoid the stress with Corona rules, tests and quarantine.
A good decision since as we excepted the infected covid numbers have gone up all of Europe again. Second Covid Christmas.  Lets hope this virus soon will loose this tight grip of the world and we can stop worry about new restrictions, limitations and infections. Having said that we have also adjusted and learned to live with it and are not even thinking it is strange that we wear masks in shops, showing vaccination app before entering a store or that kids wears masks in classrooms and gets tested every second day.

Of course it feels a little sad that we couldn't go home to Sweden now when the kids are having school-break but we focus on the good things we have here and make the most out of things and focus on recharging batteries. We are missing out on the snowy winter weather this year in Sweden when we finally have real winter but I am not complaining about the mild spring like weather we are having here in Düsseldorf as I hate being cold and the thought of how ugly it is when the snow melts to brown disgusting slush.

During December I have done some different Christmas crafts together with the kids but also by myself. In Sweden we celebrate St. Lucia on the 13 December and because I have my porcelain Lucia figures in Sweden I decided to make some. St. Lucia wears a crown of candle lights in her hair, behind Lucia walks tärnor who holds a candle in their hands and after comes stjärngossarna who holds a star in their hand and wears a cone hat with stars on. All these in white long dress. A singing group who lights up the dark nordic December.
I made mine pretty small out of cut parts of an empty toilet roll, hot glue gun, acrylic paint, cotton earbuds and some string. I think they ended up pretty cute.

I have also been making stars and paper fans out of wallpaper examples I have had saved for years. The illustrations in the middle of the stars I bought in the shop Tedi and thought they were cute and something fun to use in the stars.

I hope your Christmas also was nice and relaxed ! Did you do any fun craft this December ?

Weekly update 38/52 Örebro Autumn market in summer sun

It was exciting to participate at my first market being back in Örebro, Sweden. It was an Autumn market in the beautiful setting of Karlslund Estate in Örebro. Most exhibitor were selling locally grown fruit, veggies and flowers. Also jams, marmelades, bakeries and cheeses. It was a sunny beautiful day and it attracted a lot of people. It was fun to finally again set up my display and show my products. The market stand/table I rented from the organizer and it was perfect size and cute. My best-sellers were my hats in smaller sizes. Amd to next market I need to make more fleece-lined hats since it gets cooler here in Swedem during the winter.

Weekly update 37/52 Summer in September and preparing for Autumn market

I signed up to sell at a Autumn market here in Örebro. So I have spent a lot of time to go through my products and organize them after the move. I had an idea to display gift bags and hats slightly different so I have been playing around and testing different ways. Upstairs in the new house we have a big open space as work-shop and office and there I have built up my market displays. It feels nice in the house now when I have got it organized and set up as we want it after the move. This means that I have more time to work on my creative work and come up with new ideas.  Also mid September gave us nice warm weather so we could go to the lake and swim finally.
